Unai Emery Appointed as Aston Villa's New Head Coach

Experienced Spanish Manager Returns to the Premier League

Leading Aston Villa into a New Era

Aston Villa has announced the appointment of Unai Emery as the club's new Head Coach on a contract until 2027.

Emery, renowned for his managerial achievements at Sevilla, Arsenal, and Villarreal, will take charge of the Premier League club with immediate effect, replacing Steven Gerrard who was relieved of his duties on October 20, 2022.

The 50-year-old Spaniard brings a wealth of experience and success to Aston Villa, having won the UEFA Europa League three times with Sevilla and guiding Villarreal to the 2021 UEFA Super Cup title. He also led Arsenal to a UEFA Europa League final in 2019.

Emery's appointment is seen as a major coup for Aston Villa, who are currently 14th in the Premier League table. The club will be hoping that the experienced manager can help them improve their fortunes and push for a higher finish in the league.

Emery is excited about the challenge ahead, saying, "Aston Villa is a great club with a rich history and a passionate fan base. I am delighted to have the opportunity to coach such a talented group of players and I am confident that we can achieve great things together."

Aston Villa's Managing Director Professional Football, Christian Purslow, added, "We are pleased to welcome Unai to Aston Villa. He is a proven winner with a wealth of experience at the highest level. We are excited to see what he can achieve with our squad."
