Texans Christian Harris Makes Explosive First Impression on Azeez Al-Shaair
When the Houston Texans drafted Christian Harris in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, many expected him to contribute primarily on special teams as a rookie. However, Harris has quickly made a strong impression on the Texans’ coaching staff and veteran leaders, including Pro Bowl linebacker (LB) Azeez Al-Shaair. In an exclusive interview with Daily Brew, Al-Shaair praised Harris’s athleticism, instincts, and work ethic. “Christian is a special player,” Al-Shaair said. “He has all the tools to be a Pro Bowler himself one day.”
Harris is off to a great start in his NFL career. In his first three OTA practices, he has shown a knack for making big plays. He has recorded several tackles for loss and has even forced a fumble. Harris’s performance has not gone unnoticed by Texans head coach Lovie Smith. “Christian is a very talented player,” Smith said. “He is a hard worker, and he is constantly learning. I am excited to see what he can accomplish this season.”
While Harris still has a lot to learn, he has the potential to be a key contributor to the Texans’ defense in 2022. With his athleticism, instincts, and work ethic, he could develop into one of the best young linebackers in the NFL.
